Tonight’s the night: daylight saving time ends at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 1, and the clocks go back one hour to 1:00 AM. You get an extra hour of sleep. Mornings get lighter, nights get darker. We trade evening light for morning light. In 2022 the Senate passed a bill for permanent daylight saving time, but it stalled in the House. Arizona and Hawaii stay on standard time, but no state can choose permanent daylight time without Congress acting. Bills keep coming, nothing passes, and the clocks keep changing twice a year.
