Tuesday, November 3, 2026 — Election Day in the United States, the 2026 midterms. By law it is the Tuesday after the first Monday in November, with no presidential race on the ballot. Voters decided all 435 House seats, a third of the Senate, most governorships and legislatures, and thousands of local offices. Democrats won both chambers, ending unified Republican control; the new Congress is seated in January 2027. Midterms are often read as a report card on the sitting president.
