On Sunday, a private jet from Austin to the Bahamas came down in Palm Beach County, Florida. Nine people were on board, and none of them made it. But it got me thinking: flying seems more risky. Post-COVID, supply chains got messed up, fleets are older, and there is more pressure to keep planes flying. What does that do to safety over time? I’m not saying that’s what happened here. My thoughts are with those nine families. A two-year-old and a four-year-old never got to grow up. That stays with you.
